Services: Public Affairs

The Public Affairs Sergeant, by design, is one of our Offices spokespersons (Public Information Officer) and is the liaison between the Sheriff's Office and our citizens.

The Public Affairs Sergeant has several vital functions: community liaison, internal and external communications, community relations, crime prevention, community programs, neighborhood functions, crisis communications, media, public presentations, volunteer service programs, video production, photography, special projects, and social media.

To better understand our community's needs, we involve ourselves directly. We recognize the need for mutual understanding and cooperation to solve community and neighborhood problems. The Public Affairs Section places a strong emphasis on following relevant laws, customer service, and responsiveness as it strives to keep internal and external audiences informed.

The goal is to use communication tools, our staff, and other services to provide effective, proactive, and consistent communication between the Collin County Sheriff's Office, our citizens, and the media. Through effective relationships, community members learn about policing, while law enforcement members learn about the policing needs of the community.
